The Gottman method
Katie uses the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy in her practice. This includes an individualized, in depth assessment process, establishing safety with structured skills building to help reduce negative conflict cycles and increase the ability to see, feel, and really know yourself and your partner. Conflict management is improved by reducing maladaptive interactions that include criticism, defensiveness, contempt, and emotional disengagement. Through the couples therapy process partners can build a deep and fulfilling emotional connection which can create the foundation needed to move forward in connection or navigate the process of healing old wounds.
